Last Saturday, niin Founder & Creative Director, Jeanine Hsu was pleased to join other inspiring female entrepreneurs for a day of education and fashion. The Female Entrepreneurs #RETHINKFASHION event held at Duddell Street, Hong Kong was an opportunity for emerging designers, fashion entrepreneurs, and those looking to break into the industry to hear first-hand experience from those in the know. The event touched on topics including sustainable design and slow fashion, the future of design, how to break into the industry and what it takes to succeed.
As strong supporters of all things sustainable, Jeanine spoke of her creative journey and the importance of keeping an open mind in the design process. Jeanine explained how it was inspiring hearing of other people’s journeys and being able to share her experiences,
“It was an amazing turnout with a really engaged audience. I was blown away by the interest in sustainability in fashion and I am more excited than ever to see how everyone’s support of ‘green fashion’ will continue to shape the industry,” Jeanine said.
Thanks everyone who attended, we hope you took home some valuable information. For updated event details by Female Entrepreneurs Worldwide, visit their website here.

The Conscious Creativity for a Sustainable Future event saw Jeanine and Sean discuss their creative journey, ethical-mindset and open the XXXX about how you can be a part of creating a more sustainable future.
Held in the Art Central CLUB CENTRAL VIP room, the evening included a special viewing of niin's latest eco-chic jewellery designs on inspired plantscapes by The Stalk Room. These collections featured the use of niin’s trademark abalone shells sourced from Hong Kong seafood restaurants and up-cycled wooden furniture factory off-cuts.

Thanks, everyone for joining us for this inspirational evening. From sales on the night, niin were able to raise $3500 for Art in Hospital (http://www.aih.org.hk/), a local charity which aims to serve the needed through therapeutic art creation and the development of hospital art in Hong Kong.
This May, 36 women across 8 categories, from Eco-Warriors to Charity Workers, Entrepreneurs to Equality Champions will be celebrated for the work in their relevant fields in the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation and Hong Kong Tatler annual Women of Hope Awards.
The Women of Hope (WOH) Awards was established in 2014 by Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation (HKAHF) to recognise influential women in Hong Kong who champion the call for justice to benefit women, children, and the greater community.
As a team of all women, we at niin find it both exciting and inspiring to see more and more women doing extraordinary things for the greater community. Everyday women are challenging the status quo, pushing the boundaries, and carving a fresh, new path for future generations.
We are so proud of niin Founder & Creative Director, Jeanine Hsu being nominated for the 2017 Women of Hope Awards in the Eco-Warrior category. Her nomination reflects the acknowledgement of the importance of ethical and sustainable design and how we can all make more sustainable choices to better the environment and community every day.
If you’d like to show your support of these wonderful women making a difference, please jump online and vote here: http://spreadhopehk.org/
HKAHF created WOH as a unique campaign to raise awareness of the foundation’s Cancer Fund and its efforts to support underprivileged cancer patients in Hong Kong.
In addition to honouring inspirational women, the WOH Awards luncheon also raises awareness of the foundation’s Cancer Fund and its efforts to support underprivileged cancer patients in Hong Kong. The event features testimonials from cancer survivors, while all the funds raised are directed to the Cancer Fund to provide free scans, as well as diagnosis and treatment services to those in need.
